Wildfire impacts on aquatic ecosystems
How do lakes respond to wildfires in their watersheds? How quickly do they respond and how long does it take for them to recover?
Remote sensing
We are using Landsat imagery to look at how lake color responds to wildfire. Do lakes get bluer, greener, or does their color stay the same? What are the broad-scale patterns in lake responses? Can we identify any lake, watershed, or climatic factors that make some systems particularly sensitive to wildfire?
